When my good friends Myra and Chris asked me to be their wedding photographer in New Zealand, I was thrilled..of course! Not only was I going to see New Zealand for the first time, but I was going to capture a wedding that I knew was going to have it all…gorgeous couple, gorgeous location, beautiful styling, lovely guests, and a chance for me to catch up with some of the old Camera House crew while we holidayed in NZ.
Chris and Myra met in their last year of High School (they were at the same school but had never met or seen each other until then) In Myra’s words..”We just fell in love based purely on enjoying each others company.”
Chris and his best man Marc chilled out by the beach on the morning of the wedding, with perfect weather, and no nerves in sight for Chris…he was too busy playing with his new toy (a vintage polaroid camera)
Myra looked stunning..naturally… and got ready at her parent’s home with some help from her bridesmaid Leah and her family. Myra’s detail were gorgeous, and her jewelled wedding bouquet was custom ordered from overseas.
The couple’s heartfelt ceremony took place at the stunning Bridgewater Country Estate in Auckland. Myra and Chris fell in love with this venue on first seeing it, and knew straight away that they wanted to celebrate their day there.
There was no-one happier than me to see my friends seal the deal with a kiss on the steps of the little chapel….these guys are meant for each other! We then walked around the beautiful gardens and found some gorgeous spots to have photos before their lovely reception took place . The room was decorated with a lovely vintage theme, and the custom m&ms were a sneaky suprise from Myra’s sister who bought them over in her luggage from the USA!
Chris’s good mate Chris (Sharpey) was the MC for the night, where the speeches kept everyone entertained (and a little teary!)
The beautiful cake was designed by the lovely bride herself! (beautiful AND clever!!!) Myra was overwhelmed to see her creation made to perfection, with the cake makers placing a small ruby made of icing on the back of the cake, a unique way to symbolise the beautiful ruby that is set in the engagement ring Chris gave Myra the day he proposed.
Enjoy these beautiful collection of images, which I think sum up the day perfectly..lots of love, and lots of laughs. Thankyou Myra and Chris for allowing me to be a part of your day Sxx
